I originally used software created by
Philip Greenspun
however his sever is overloaded, and is often too busy to
handle requests, so I wrote my own set of products for web sites.

There is no charge for using these services.
I may or may not put advertising on the page, if I do,
it will not be pornographic or offensive.
For now I'm not advertising except to put a small link at the bottom of each display.
Create a Realm
You need to create a realm which will identify a set of pages based on a common base url and title.
The fields you will need to define are:
- realm: unique identification for your realm
- title: the 'pretty' title to appear on pages when visitors see server pages
- base url: the base part of the URL for this realm.
e.g. for darkroomsource it's http://www.darkroomsource.net/ because every page has that as it's base url, however for my home pages it's http://www.open.org/~hughesa/ because that's the common portion.
This is used to provide a link back to your pages, and to locate the 'pretty' title for each page (based on what is found between the <title> and </title> tags on your pages
- your email: so that your email can be put on the pages in case people need to contact you, you also need to be registered in our user database
- your full name: so that people know who you are
- text to appear on the top of comment pages: this will show at the top of comment pages, it can be blank
- text to appear on the top of link pages: this will show at the top of link pages, it can be blank
- text to appear on the top of address pages: this will show at the top of address pages, it can be blank
- text to appear when there are no comments: this will show when there are no comments, it can be blank
- text to appear when there are no links: this will show when there are no links, it can be blank
- text to appear when there are no addresses: this will show when there are no addresses, it can be blank
- password: a password used to restrict access to your realm
Once you've created a realm, you will be given a
link to administer that realm, or you can
list realms
and select your realm from the list.
From the realm administrator pages, you have links to comments,
links, addresses, statistics, and generating html for each.
OK already, I want to
create a realm.
