What Address-Server does
You have a Web server with static pages. You want users to be able to add addresses dynamically to any of your pages. However, you don't want to turn all of your Web pages into computer programs. You don't want to run your own Relational Database Management System-backed Web site. You don't want to spend the rest of your life backing up and maintaining the relational database. That's where Address-Server comes in. Your static pages stay on your current server. You create a realm on this server. Then you put links on your pages, and visitors can start entering addresses. How it works
- You fill out a form for our database specifying the backlink URL and title, plus a some information about your web site. You give us a password so that only you can administer this page. This is called a realm on our servers - you need one realm for each site, no matter how many pages or services you use.
- You decide which of your pages should have addresses.
- You place some HTML (which I will give you) on your page(s).
- You enter some addresses to get things started (if you want), and then wait for users to add addresses as they see fit.
- You receive an email whenever someone enters an address, with a link to edit or delete the address. (You'll need the password, if you ever forget your password, it can be emailed to you).
