Salem Oregon's fake Christmas tree
My son sings in the
Salem Boys Choir in Salem, Oregon.
Yesterday, he and the choir sang at the tree lighting ceremony.
He told me today that the tree this year is a bunch of logs put together to look like a tree.
I remember a couple of years ago, when the tree was just a tall metal pole.
I just don't understand this at all.
If you've ever been to Oregon in October and November, you know that thousands, if not millions of Christmas trees are shipped out to the rest of the United states and the world.
We could probably claim to be the Christmas tree capitol of the world, and not get any complaints.
And Salem is the state capitol.
So, here's the capitol of the Christmas tree capitol of the world, using a fake tree. What gives?
