Britain Warns of New Terror Attacks in Turkey
ISTANBUL (Reuters) - Britain has warned more terror attacks may target Turkey, after 27 people were killed by truck bombs at its Istanbul consulate and offices of the London-based banking giant HSBC. British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, who walked through the rubble at the consulate hours after the blast on Thursday, said the attacks bore the hallmarks of Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network. The synagogue attacks killed 25 people and wounded 300 in the deadliest week of non-wartime violence in Turkey's modern history. My Sardonic Thoughts
- Britain says there may be more attacks? What was their first clue?
- Jack Straw sure knows his Osama bin Laden work doesn't he? He's able to tell just by walking through the damage within hours of the explosion that bin Laden was involved - Did he know in advance...?
- Non-wartime violence? It doesn't sound like peace to me.
- How much of Turkey's modern history has been non-wartime?
