Gore Releases Report on His Health

WASHINGTON -- Vice President Al Gore is in "outstanding overall health" despite elevated cholesterol and the 1996 removal of a form of skin cancer, according to a report released on Wednesday by the Democratic presidential candidate.

The three-page medical summary was based on a May 7 examination of the vice president performed at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. The findings were reviewed by a dozen specialists ranging from a cardiologist to a personal trainer and nutritionist.

The vice president's office distributed his records to news organizations five days after his rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, Bill Bradley, was forced to disclose a non-life-threatening irregular heartbeat.
