Thieves Seize Rare 'Gulliver's Travels'
BELFAST (Reuters) - Armed robbers swept into a public library in Northern Ireland Tuesday and walked away with an irreplaceable copy of Jonathan Swift's 1726
classic ``Gulliver's Travels," police said.
The two men produced a handgun and tied up the librarian in the daring daylight robbery in the center of the ancient cathedral city of Armagh.
``They then stole a number of items, including the original 'Gulliver's Travels' book and two maces dating back from 1600," a police spokeswoman said.
My Sardonic Thoughts
- Now there's something easy to sell on the open market!
- Hey, wanna buy a watch? or maybe an original 1726 version of Gulliver's Travels? or a 1600 Mace?

THIEVES STEAL 37,000 POUNDS OF KOOL-AID
AURORA (Illinois) -- A trucking company late last week reported
the theft of a trailer that contained 37,000 pounds of
Kool-Aid valued at $25,000, police said Monday. A
48-foot trailer, itself valued at $20,000, containing the
soft-drink mix was taken from Roadway Express Inc., in
the 1200 block of Aurora Avenue.
My Sardonic Thoughts
- Another easily sold item...
- Not interested in that book, how about some Kool-Aid?
- Were these guys really thirsty? don't they know you have to add water?
- If they wanted the trailer that bad, why didn't they wait until the stuff had been delivered?
