Mass Graves in Mexico
Mexican and U.S. agents unearthed remains of two people on Tuesday as they searched sites in northern Mexico where drug cartels are suspected of burying some 100 murder victims, including 22 Americans. An Associated Press report questioned the number of American bodies that might be found, quoting U.S. officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, as saying only four or five Americans had been reported missing in the area over the past several years. "The first things we have uncovered are bones belonging to two people," Mexican Attorney General Jorge Madrazo told the Televisa network late on Tuesday. He said some bits of clothing and a pair of boots had also been found at one of the clandestine grave sites near Ciudad Juarez, across the Rio Grande from El Paso, Texas. Mexican officials have said searches at four separate sites could explain the disappearances of more than 100 people, including many from Ciudad Juarez, over the past four years. Madrazo said, however, it was not know of those missing would be found buried at the Juarez site. "We're not at the end of this operation, we're just at the beginning," he said. The search involves 600 Mexican investigators and soldiers and some 65 FBI agents using the same technology that the bureau had used in Kosovo, including ground-piercing radar. FBI sources said the investigative team will be boosted to about 150 agents in the coming days. The probe began on Monday after a Mexican arrested during a big drug seizure in El Paso in April told U.S. authorities people had been tortured, murdered and buried at a ranch outside the city.My Sardonic Thoughts
- Mass Graves? So far, after 3 days of searching, digging, using ground piercing radar, 600 Mexican investigators, and 65 FBI agents, they've uncovered two (2), yes TWO bodies.
- Now they are going to add another 150 agents, so in the next two days, maybe they'll find 3 more?
- I wonder how much money is being spent on this? As much as was spent to find JFK Jr? Maybe even more! and all they did when they found him was re-bury him at sea - the same place they found him...
